Summer 2009

Fred has been an adult camper, volunteer counselor, and a kayak dean for many years at Camp Kinawind.  He and his wife, Nancy, served as Kinawind co-directors from 1984 to 1988.  After 30 years as a high school guidance counselor, Fred returned to Kinawind as director in 2006.

Megann took her first communion at a Kinawind campfire and attended many years as a camper.   She has been on staff in numerous roles for many years.  One camper wrote in the end of the week evaluation, “Megann should stay at camp forever.”   So far so good.

Jeanne first came to Kinawind as our assistant cook in 2005.  Her experience as a cook at Vanderbilt Schools prepared her to serve as our head cook, a challenging role she has fulfilled since 2006.

Kristen has been a camper for many years.  She completed the CIT training and served as a volunteer counselor last summer.

Phil has been a camper for many years.  He completed the CIT training and served as a volunteer counselor in 2007 and 2008.

Brian has been a camper and a CIT.   He has served as counselor in our on site small groups and on Voyager trips.   His primary role has been as Lifeguard in 2006 and 2008.

Mike joined the staff in 2006 as our DVD “dude”.   This will be his third year of taking pictures and videos, editing, producing, and copying the weekly DVDs.  Mike pitches in with a variety of support staff tasks as time allows.

Heather was a Kinawind camper and a volunteer counselor.   She joined the summer staff in 2008 serving as a counselor, lifeguard, and on support staff. 

Becky has been a Kinawind camper and completed our CIT training.   She volunteered as counselor in 2008 and will join this year’s support staff.
