Camp Kinawind is blessed with one of the finest lakes in northern Michigan, an area known for beautiful lakes and good water quality. Swimming and boating (row boats, canoes, and kayaking) are very popular activities. Waterfront activities are consistently mentioned on the list of favorite Kinawind activities.

Froggy Island is a nearby destination site for younger boaters. The island is a fun spot for explorations and a quick sack lunch. The Sojourner campsite, about 1.5 miles down the lake, provides a beautiful overnight option for older groups who choose to paddle down for a sleepout. The shoreline sports two older beaver lodges, an active Bald Eagles’ nest, and numerous water fowl including loons. 

A Lifeguard is on duty for all swimming and boating activities. Our Health Officer is present for swimming activities.
